Jeffery Ahn, Jr. Fellowship (Arts)
What: Arts Competition Who: High School Age Students Application Due: February 29th, 5:00pm Website The Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. Fellowship for Young Artists is awarded annually to a high school age artist of any background who proposes to complete an independent creative project during her or his summer break. The fellowship will provide up to $10,000 of funding for the project, including but not limited to cost of materials, relevant museum or gallery admission, and/or tuition for creative instruction. The Fellowship honors the creativity and independence of Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. (1995-2012) while supporting young artists as they strengthen their skills and talent. Soroptomist International NYC- Violet Richardson Award
What: Award to honor young women for their service to others Who: Girls ages 14-17 Application Due: December 2015 Website Violet Richardson Award Application Named after the president of the first Soroptimist club, the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award honors girls who are making a difference through volunteer service. Each year, Soroptimist clubs honor girls who donate their time and energy to causes that make the community and world a better place—such as working to end discrimination and poverty, assisting women and children who are victims of domestic violence, or mentoring young girls. The program begins on the Soroptimist club level, with club recipients becoming eligible for additional awards at other levels of the organization. One winner is chosen to receive a finalist award, which includes a contribution of $2,500 to the charitable organization of the recipient's choice. |

Y-MVP is a FREE 8-week program that combines fun fitness activities with an interactive app. Over the course of the challenge, participants meet as a small class once a week with a trained coach to take on fitness “quests.” At the end of each class, teens receive a fitness “mission” that they need to complete before the next class during after-school or weekend teen fitness hours. Program participants record their workouts and check on their progress in the Y-MVP app, and are recognized and rewarded by earning digital badges and other fun incentives. Y-MVP is a program uniquely designed to teach teens how to develop dynamic fitness routines that work for them, and all levels of fitness are welcome. Get fit! Make friends! Have fun!

We’re challenging students to show us why voting is important. They just need to shoot and upload a video that delivers the message in 90 seconds or less. The first place winner scores an Apple gift card worth $1,000. Second- and third-place winners finish with Apple gift cards worth $500 and $250, respectively.
