MHSHS and Co-Op Tech
At MHSHS we are invested in the many different iterations of post-secondary success. In addition to our partnership with Hunter College, MHSHS Seniors have the opportunity to participate in a number of programs offered by the School of Cooperative Technical Education.
What is Co-Op Tech?
Co-Op Tech (School of Cooperative Technical Education) offers high school students the opportunity to explore career interests while still completing their regular academic program.
What is the schedule like?
Students attend their high school classes in the morning and attend Co-Op Tech courses in the afternoon, receiving hands-on training in fields such as healthcare, construction trades (including electrical and building skills), culinary arts, automotive services, welding, unisex styling and information technology.
What are the benefits of a program like Co-op Tech?
The program allows students to develop practical skills, work towards industry certifications and gain experience that leads to employment, apprenticeships, or further training after graduation.
Co-Op Tech is a great option for students who want to build real-world skills and explore career pathways while finishing their high school coursework.
