Firstly, we want to say CONGRATULATIONS on being accepted to one of the most prestigious high schools in New York City. We are excited that you have accepted the offer of joining our MHSHS family.

Be on the lookout for another email with information on orientation/Open House for Thursday June 5th. At orientation you will meet the principal, teachers and receive information on our uniform policy, class times, clubs/sports and expectations for the fall.
The next most important step is filling out our Spanish Placement Survey and scheduling questions!
This Spanish Placement survey allows us to place your child accordingly in September. This placement must be done by the student and without the help of any outside assistance. The form also includes questions about if your child is taking any NYS regents in the 8th grade. This allows the programmers to make sure the student is placed correctly. If your school does not offer regents or if your child is not taking the placement that is fine, we will still program them accordingly.
We also ask that you upload a report card/progress report/student schedule from the middle school. A screenshot is sufficient too from this year. We are not looking at the grades! We are looking at the classes you are currently enrolled in. Again, this is to place you in the most accurate science and math class.
This placement survey must be completed ASAP.

Will there be any Spring or any other Open House in the spring?
There will be only one Open House/Orientation scheduled for Wednesday June 5th, 2024
How does the waitlist work?
The waitlist goes in order starting with 1. We often only pull 1-10 students in a given year off of our wait list.
Does MHSHS rank and send acceptances?
Our school and others do not rank students. All we do is grade and score our essays and send scores to the Office of Enrollment. HS Enrollment uses a formula to rank and send acceptances out, we DO NOT handle this.
