COURSE OFFERINGS: ARTS

NYC Arts

A course that studies the diverse cultures and arts all throughout New York City, with an emphasis on field trips and meeting artists. Students learn about graffiti, photography, painting and the amazing people who live in our city.

Studio Art

An art-making course where students have the opportunity to experiment with different art modalities such as: sculpture, video art, photoshop, drawing, comic books, and more. The studio arts experience varies every year.

Independent Arts Study

For students who have taken both NYC Arts and Studio Art. Students are able to design their own Visual Arts coursework which they complete independently in their Junior year.

This course culminates in a solo exhibition at the end of the school year.

Orchestra

Strings Ensemble invites students of all skill levels to explore the fundamentals of violin, viola, cello, and keyboard through hands‑on, collaborative music‑making. Students build technique, confidence, and musical literacy while rehearsing a wide range of ensemble pieces. Throughout the year, they showcase their progress by performing in school concerts and video recordings that celebrate their growth as young musicians. As a part of their music experience, students go on trips to see instruments from around the world and recording studios.

See our art teacher, Nick Kozak, share his insights about the work he does in our school via the Guggenheim’s Art Educator in Conversation Series with Luis Camnizter.
